The Executive Team

The Executive Committee of The New Milton Town Partnership is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting which is usually held at end of May of each year at The Town Hall.  Other Members can be co-opted during the year if felt fit.

The Executive Committee consists of at least seven and not more than ten elected members :-

The Honorary Officers are elected (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer)

The Town Development Officer is also a Member of The Team.

One Member is elected annually by The New Milton Town Council.

WYN DAVIES - CHAIRMAN

Wyn was a project manager with the marine consultants Three Quays Marine Services Limited, having previously spent 10 years with the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors. A fully qualified naval architect and a member of the Heritage Lottery Fund's Directory of Expert Advisors, he now divides his working time between historic ships and the RN's latest projects as a senior consultant with Frazer-Nash Consultancy.

alan watson - vice chairman

Alan moved to Barton on Sea two years ago from Little Chalfont in Buckinghamshire, after retiring from the computer industry where he held a number of management positions in large companies. His career culminated in running his own Company for the last 10 years. Alan was closely involved with the Market Town Health Check in Little Chalfont where he was responsible for the Economics sector. Alan is now responsible for the Partnership web site and a number of other projects including Silver Surfer's Day in 2010 in New Milton and more recently the highly successful first New Milton Crafts Series of Events.

ROGER DAGNALL - SECRETARY

Roger has lived in the New Forest area for the last 35 years and is now retired. He was previously employed by an international company at their research laboratories in Southampton as a Senior Research Scientist. He is a Chartered Mathematician and has a Masters Degree in Systems Engineering. Roger's interests are in the stage and he belongs to two local theatrical groups, Milton Musical Society and Christchurch Gilbert & Sullivan Society. He is also Treasurer of the Friends of Arnewood Practice in New Milton.

john evans - treasurer

John Evans MSI, a Stockbroker for over 35 years moved to New Milton after marrying local girl Pam in 1971; they have one son, Gareth. Wishing to become involved in the community, John joined the Lions Club in 1972 and has been President on three occasions. In recent years, John was a Town Councillor, Chairing the former Town Project Committee.

RUPERT DAVIES

Rupert has been involved with the Town Partnership since its inception in 2004 and was also involved with the Town Projects group from the beginning. He is a Director of Bradbeers, a family run department store group in New Milton and Romsey. His main current project interests are the Town plan update, Christmas events and the Business in Action Group. Original interests were the streetscape, and representing the partnership at project meetings when the then Chairman couldn't make it. Rupert enjoys mountain biking in the New Forest, skiing and rowing amongst other things.

SARAH CONACHER

Sarah is a local resident with 2 children who have been educated at The Arnewood School where she has taught for a number of years. Her role at school has changed over the years and as well as teaching she is also a deputy Community manager, a job which involves bringing the school and community together in various projects. Sarah is also a school sport coordinator working with the New Forest schools sports partnership to promote sport in all the schools across the New Forest.

The Town Development Officer

ROS BOWLES

Local to the New Forest, educated at Brockenhurst Grammar School and 6th Form College. Worked in HR at M & R – Martini & Rossi Ltd. for 10 years. Left to have a family after marrying Mike, an Army Officer. Posted to Virginia, USA, where she ran a craft shop. On return to UK was Chairman of the local Playgroup then of the Parents’ Association of Brockenhurst Primary School where she ran several local fundraisers. Posted to the Falkland Islands where she set up a Families’ Association to help families cope with life in a very isolated posting. It is still running today, 16 years later. Back in UK, ran very successful fundraiser for new classrooms for Brockenhurst Primary School. Posted to Brazil, worked for an NGO in isolated rural communities in the southernmost fringes of the Amazon Rainforest running community consultations that resulted in plans and projects. Was the representative for GAP Activity Projects there looking after young British volunteers working in social and environmental projects; took over as the Project Manager for Brazil in 2004 and ran it for 3 years. In 2005 took the part time temporary position of Town Project Officer in New Milton covering incumbent on maternity leave. Moved to be Town Project Officer in Ringwood writing the Town Plan following intensive consultation in the community and statistical analysis. Also took on the role of Town Development Officer in New Milton in 2007 successfully delivering the SEEDA projects in the Town Plan and greatly improving relationships between the Town Partnership and the Town Council. Has also recently started her own organisation sending adult volunteers to Brazil to work in social and environmental projects.
