The New Milton Town Partnership, in existence for over 8 years, is an independent charity formed to deliver our Town's Action Plan in conjunction with other local bodies including New Milton Town Council. It has been working hard since its formation to improve life for the residents, businesses and visitors to our Community.
It has a committee of volunteers who care deeply about their Community and the local environment, but who wish to remain flexible and outside the Town's political arena.
The Partnership, its Executive Committee and its Members bring together a unique breadth of professional and personal skills, plus local knowledge, to a wide array of Projects, some outline details of which can be seen in the Achievements section of this site
The Partnership works closely with others to achieve its aims and objectives and amongst these are :-
The Partnership raises funds annually to employ a Town Development Officer, Ros Bowles, who administers, along with the Project Champions, the activities and projects in which the Partnership is involved.
These funds are raised from the Projects the Partnership undertakes, from local businesses and by a contribution from New Milton Town Council
Registered Charity No : 1105860
The Town Partnership's unique capability is to be able to apply for funds and grants on behalf of the local community, businesses and residents. This combined with our professional skills, project and financial management capability - can help other local organisations and indeed individuals who also want to serve the community, to leave a lasting legacy for the Town.
The New Milton Town Partnership evolved from a 2002 initiative by The New Milton Town Council called the New Milton Project. Following the completion of The Town Health Check and the drafting of the Action Plan for the Regeneration Project, it was decided to establish the Partnership as an independent charitable organisation. The remit of the Partnership was to coordinate the delivery of the long term aims of the Regeneration Project.
Many of the Projects outlined in the Plan (for example the Streetscaping of Station Road) have been completed. Some have been closed because they are no longer applicable or cannot be completed. Others continue to be worked upon by the Partnership.
In late 2010 and during 2011, the Town Partnership has been working on drawing the remaining projects together and seeking from the public their views on what still needs to be done, to make New Milton a better place to live, work and play.
The imminent publication of The New Milton Town Plan Update 2012, which has recently been adopted by The New Milton Town Council - sees the Partnership move to the next phase of its work on behalf of the Town.
During 2011, New Milton Town Council has been drafting its own Strategic Plan for the next three years and this has also recently been adopted as the Master Plan for the Council. The New Milton Town Plan Update 2012 forms the Appendix to this Strategic Document.
