Wyn has been a trustee since the Partnership’s formation from a New Milton Town Council sub-committee in 2004.

Wyn served on the town council for sixteen years and has returned to the council after a gap of eight years, during which time he served as Chairman of Partnership.

During his chairmanship Wyn was largely responsible for the formulation and creation of the Town Design Statement, a document that forms part of the local distinctiveness planning guidance used by New Forest District Council’s planning department to govern the style of developments in the town and protect the town’s character where necessary.

Wyn has also served as a trustee of the CAB, a governor of Ashley Infant School, as chairman of the local branch of the Liberal Democrat party and he is currently chairman of his church fundraising committee.

A chartered engineer, he continues his career as a practising naval architect and maritime historian.

Much of the marine work is as a mentor for the Heritage Lottery Fund, taking him to a variety of UK coastal towns and cities, as well as the occasional trip abroad, exposing him to their problems and achievements.
