Ros was brought up in the New Forest and was educated at Brockenhurst Grammar School and 6th Form College.

After leaving college she worked for ten years in human resources for Martini & Rossi before accompanying her husband, Mike, a career army officer, and infant son, in Virginia, USA, on an exchange posting in Virginia USA.

Subsequently as a family they went on postings to the Falkland Islands and Brazil where Ros worked for an NGO in rural development.

Ever since her schooldays Ros has been a keen volunteer for a variety of organisations in the UK and overseas, often chairing committees or running shops. She currently chairs the management committee of New Milton Memorial Centre.

When the family returned permanently to the UK, Ros started working as the Town Development Officer in New Milton in 2005 since when she has been very busy with different projects to benefit the town’s economy, environment and community, with fundraising and with event organisation.

Ros worked for Ringwood Town Council for two and a half years to produce their very successful town plan through a process of community consultation and engagement and statistical analysis.

Ros has many years’ experience in community engagement and consultation, fundraising and project management, plus events organisation.  She is looking forward to continuing this work in New Milton to work with the community on exciting projects for the benefit of all.
